How To Choose An SEO Firm

SEO

SEO

SEO is an acronym for the phrase, search engine optimization. People will also often call SEO search engine marketing. Choosing to hire a business for SEO services is a big decision. It will cost money, but it will also save your company a lot of time, resources, and it can help to increase your sales or the profitability of your business by giving your website more traffic and exposure.

When choosing an SEO company, there are several things you will want to learn about your SEO service provider. Choosing the wrong search engine optimization firm can not only waste your money, it can get your site banned from the search engines and cause harm to your brand name.

The first thing to consider is whether or not you are dealing with an ethical company. Some companys will take your money, not do any work, and then after a few months say we tried everything we could, I guess that your competition has a stronger website or your website is just not SEO friendly. Other companies will do worse. Some use what is called black hat SEO which is a form of unethical SEO that tries to trick the search engines. It can sometimes provide a short term boost in search engine rankings, but in the long run will hurt your SEO or even get you banned.

You will want to make sure that your SEO services company provides white hat practices which are ethical and will not hurt your websites reputation. Common white hat SEO practices can include keyword research, Meta tag generation, competition reports, relevant link building, and building a social media presence.

The following are questions that Google recommends that you ask any SEO service company that you may be considering hiring:
• Can you show me examples of your previous work and share some success stories?
• Do you follow the Google Webmaster Guidelines?
• Do you offer any online marketing services or advice to complement your organic search business?
• What kind of results do you expect to see, and in what timeframe?  How do you measure your success?
• What’s your experience in my industry?
• What’s your experience in my country/city?
• What’s your experience developing international sites?
• What are your most important SEO techniques?
• How long have you been in business?

If the SEO company that you are talking to can not say yes or show you examples for the questions above you may want to shop around for another company

However, if you are looking for an affordable, small scale SEO project than then most important factors are:
• Is the proposal in your budget?
• Does the SEO practice ethical or “white hat” SEO?
• Can the company show you examples of their successes?
